London has so many surprising spots from another time & world. On the Thames, near Hammersmith Bridge, is the former 1890s Harrods furniture warehouse (now it's posh apartments). From a time when even warehouses were allowed to be lovely.

Not far away is an abandoned Victorian cemetery at Barnes Common. All overgrown and crumbling stones. I stumbled upon it when I got lost one evening, as the sun sank.
