The Arno River, Florence |
P.S. For the full effect, try this Puccini aria (used in A Room with a View), about throwing oneself into Florence's Arno River over tormented love. Dame Kiri Te Kanawa's voice makes me weepy.

i love the softness that film gives a picture. you can try to recapture that with picnik or photoshop or something like that, but film just gives off this natural glow. so pretty!
This only goes to prove it's not the equipment that makes great images, but the photographer! And I LOVE Puccini. Thank you for making my afternoon!
Oh, I must see this movie!!!!
Big Hugs,

Beautiful pairing. I just listened to that song and stared at your photo and now am feeling quite relaxed. Loved that movie btw. Kind of feeling like pulling out one of my old polariods now.
Totally lovely.
Florence's Arno! I know it well as I used to look out over it every day when I lived in the city -- which really is like living in a postcard!
Nice shot and extra points for the disposable camera!
Sigh... I haven't seen the film yet. I feel I have to...!
And such a great photo - I love it!
I haven't used film in ages...it does give a different feel though. Hope you're great!

Your picture is wonderful. What a scene to take in!! I love the disposable cameras, too. Digital is great, but there's nothing like the old school. I guess I'm officially getting "mature". oy

That scene is my all time favorite! The first time I saw it, I was in high school, and I was so moved I couldn't sleep the entire night! So romantic!
Me and my bestfriend are planning a trip to Italy and we want to stay in Florence. We are still saving but we know we want a gorgeous hotel to stay at. Any one know of one.
Your photo provides me with a wonderful view at the moment! Can't listen to the Dame from this computer, hope to catch up later:)
