London's Busaba Eathai

The dining vibe at Busaba Eathai is sleek, casual and buzzy, yet somehow intimate (a true design feat!). Their delicious, Thai-inspired dishes include the excellent Mussaman duck curry and Chinese broccoli with garlic and shiitake mushroom (the apple chicken is yummy too).

But the best part? Reasonable prices! No small thing in London. (Hence the loong lines at Busaba in Soho, above. Arrive early. :))

Good tip, no doubt I'll go visit London again someday and I'll try to remember this pearl! The food looks delicious :)

I'm trying to figure out what kind of leaf and filling combo that is in the top left corner....it looks so appetizing! Certainly sounds like a restaurant that I'd be very happy to go to.

The food looks yum and i love, love the decor. It's so zen. I definitely would go there with a very empty stomach because i bet it's a treat to stay there for a while and just linger. I would also want to try a bit of everything on the menu! Happy Wednesday. xo

Hi Signe - I hope you get to visit! I guess I'm not a big fan of London prices :), but sometimes small gems like this make up for it!

Hi Rowena - ooh, you had me hopping to the menu to double-check (well, I didn't exactly *mind*, haha) - I'm pretty that's the the prawn pomelo (a side that includes peanuts served on betel(!) leaf)!

Hi Kirsty - thanks sweetie!

Hi Lee - oh, hope you get a chance to go soon! I think I hop on that plane too much :) (But I don't mind!)

Hi Stacey - I thought it might actually be the kind of restaurant you'd appreciate, both for the menu + the architectural detail! It'd be so fun & fantastic to hear your thoughts on their design choices :) :)

Hi Diana - ooh, so exciting! I hope you get a chance. The only problem is they've become so scarily popular in less than 24 months! (those crazy queues!) So sweet you're visiting your mum soon :)

HI Justine - oh, I hope you get a chance to visit it someday. It's run by the same guy who thought up Wagamama and Yauatcha (I'm not sure if Yauatcha made it outside London, but I know Wagamama certainly has!) Fun communal dining, lots of fresh ingredients, and not-crazy prices, so all-in-all it's a recipe for popularity :)

Hi Alternative Wife (haha, I just love typing that out :)) - ooo, hope you get a chance to check it out! (I can't believe how popular it's become, but hoping they keep their quality up!)

Ooh, it sounds and looks delicious and looking at that last photo yes, I see *many* others agree!

One of the disadvantages of living in such a small place as here is not lack of eating places but lack of *variety* of food. I'd love to try more Thai food .. and Moroccan. :)

Hi Angelcel - haha, yes, the place has exploded in popularity in a super-short amount of time! (But as long as they keep their quality up, I guess no one minds :)) I don't have as much Thai food as I should :)...and gosh, I'd love to try more Moroccan! (What a delicious ideas you've put in my head :))

all this food looks and sound so yumy.

I love the idea of making food from fresh local ingredients and this seems like a homemade meal with the extra flare of restaurant presentation. Love it.

Hi Ren - you hit the nail on the head! The dishes I like to order there always tastes like homecooking :) Busaba is good about trying to source locally when possible, so that's indeed something lovely about them!

Hi Cat - so true, that's my kind of food, something a little different and very yummy :)

Hi Amanda - haha, my (truly local London) significant other & I actually pronounce the name totally differently! But we do agree it's D-lish :)

Hi LenoreNeverMore - I'm inspired by their decor & design too! It's communal dining & buzzing, yet feels weirdly intimate (which is great) - I love how they managed that :)

Hi Lisa - thanks so much! I also agree a great atmosphere adds that x-tra x factor to any eating experience :)

Hi Sohdalex - I love Thai too! (Don't have it enough :))

Hi Kat - I think you'd actually enjoy them just because the do emphasize the fresh, local ingredient thing. (The crazy queues are the main prob for sure! :))
