Photo du jour: A beach by any other name

Small beach near Ko Olina, Hawaii...

As a fun contrast, this is also a beach...but in London (where my significant other is from). I like to wind him up (tease him) about it. ;)

{An August Break Continued post: Top photo taken on island of Oahu. Bottom photo of Bankside Beach taken in London, UK.}

You know I really like London, but its beach simply can't compete with Hawaii!!! Sigh!!! Thanks for giving my eyes such a beautiful sight :-)

I think I would prefer Hawaii! Haha I'm sure London has other bonuses though!

What? They look almost the same. Ha. I always say, while we have many wonderful lakes, the beach is the only thing missing in Arizona. London could almost say the same thing - kidding Londers, kidding.

Your Hawaii photos are amazing. You need to make a calendar. :) I've never been to both.

Definitely SO very different! Have you ever been to the southern california beaches? ...esp the cliffs in sd? If not, you must go there someday! it's gorgeous!

Hawaii seems to be the place to be:)

Haha! That is hilarious! Hawaii does have the best beaches in the world. But England does have fish and chips so...

Hahaha I love London but for beaches I'd rather go to Hawaii, thank you!

Wow now that's quite a difference! I'd tease him too, honestly. You're a lucky girl :)

That first beach? Wow. I'd love to teleport there right this very second.

What a heavenly scene ...Hawaii, not London. I can't quite put my finger on it but somehow London doesn't quite have the same appeal. ;)

Ha fun contrast! I didn't even know London had beaches...
Have a great day! :)

what a contrast! though there some afternoons when the water is low, the sun is shining, and people gather on the river near Southbank (I think I once saw someone on a couch there?) that it's not half bad... but it's not hawaii! xo bb

You'll have to show your honey the comments on this post and have a good laugh. Thanks for popping by again. Things are hectic around here today(actually has been for the last week and a half, so no posting today). You're definitely my "homie" Jude:-). xx

Kat - I know EXACTLY what you mean! :)
Rosie - thanks so much - loving your recent florals for *my* sore eyes!
Jess - hahaha, true, London has other good stuff going on :)
Lisa - thanks so much! Try to go 2x/year and we take GBs of photos! (This is just a fraction I'm torturing everyone with! ;))
Kirsty - you must have lovely ones by the English sea! (not like London's Bankside :))
Stacey - hahaaa - I will have to tell the SO that! ;)
Jeanette - heehee (I may have turned off some Londoners myself). At least Arizona lakes are *gorgeous*!
Ashley - aw, thank you! You've got lovely Cali year round :)
Nicole - ooh, I'd love to see them someday! I bet I'd feel right at home :)
Jeannie - thanks so much! :)
Tiffany - haha, touche! It's darn hard to find decent fish & chips in the States! :)
Lee - lol, I didn't either! At least they have the one :)
Cafe Bellini - heehee, yes, the one thing London needs, real beaches!
Dawn - :) :) Haha, it truly *does* make me appreciate the Hawaii thing! :)
Krysten - thanks so much! :)
Amy - wouldn't mind some teleportation myself! (Life would be easier! :))
Angelcel - heehee, I guess London has it's limits sometimes ;)
Annie - haha, I truly didn't myself, it took a while for me to realize this was a beach! ;)
Justine - that is soo funny! I do tend to spend more time near English than Hawaiian waters sometimes - they have their own beauty (not the London beach, but other places - e.g., River Cam :))
BB - oh my gosh, I've seen the guy on a couch (made of sand, I think?!) It actually is a lovely area of London! I just couldn't resist the comparison after I heard a few Londoners go on about their very own beach being the best in the world! ;)
Stacey - thanks so much for dropping by - I'm sending good wishes that things will calm soon! Haha, I'm definitely showing the honey these for a great laugh! ;)
S and O - aw, thanks so much! :)
Ching - thank you! :)
Cat - haha, I guess I'll be showing him these comments soon enough (I think he'll understand :))
Kristin - aw, thanks! And thanks for dropping by! :)
