Pretty edibles

Romanesco (still remembering the romanesco I had recently)

"Bright Lights" Swiss chard

Even the truffle pasta at Crudus, which so inspired Jason Wu...

He put it on the runway! This cream chiffon "truffle" skirt is from Wu's Spring '11 collection. :)

P.S. Took my computer to the computer doctor for a MAJOR checkup - at loong last, I can follow people with Google Friend Connect! (And I think my own GFC finally works.) Yippee! :)

  1. My GFC was being weird for awhile too...It seems better now, but that was frustrating! I've never even seen that first food..it looks like something from the ocean :)

  4. Oh that's great! I'm now following officially, of course :-) Hmm the romanesco IS pretty but I don't think I liked the taste of it (I've only had it once or twice)... maybe I'll just serve it when I have guests over - it will look nice and I won't have to eat it haha!

  10. I encountered romanesco in my local Whole Foods for the first time this past weekend. I'm not sure what to do with it though. How is it cooked? It's just so pretty, it almost doesn't look like it could be edible.

  21. When I was recently in Budapest, we were walking through an outside market and I spotted these incredible looking (almost dinosaur like) vegetables and I had no idea what they were. I took a photo because of their beauty. I now know what they were...Romanesco! Are they good? I'm guessing tastes like broccoli?
    p.s. Love your blog:)

  41. Thanks so much for your lovely comments, my goodness but I'm relieved about my computer fix!
    @Brandi, Jeanette, Julie-Inspired, and Connie - romanesco really does taste like broccoli (and cooked like it)! With a bit of brussel sprout flavor, so it's kinda peppery but I loved it :)
    @Nicole - love Edible Arrangements! The skirt is made of real chiffon, so probably nowhere as tasty as a truffle :)
    @Lisa - I think I've been to some of those outlets near Bear Mtn! Woodbury? Shopping heaven :)
    @Carrie - I can finally see your pictures if I click on them! Though I think it's also Blogger being mean since a few of us have the same problem!
    @Kristin - I'll leave more info on your blog re:London! :)
