The magic hour

{End-of-world feeling from "Days of Heaven," see young Richard Gere?}
Hope your weekend was great! I've been trying to get an earlier start these days, and you know what? Being up at the magic hour is nice in a super-quiet, end-of-the-world way -- barely a soul is stirring!
~ Wishing you a magical week ahead! ~

A lovely start to the day. I start pretty early usually. But since I get straight to work at my computer what I find magical is actually being on the streets at that time. In London I used to talk to the office around 6.30 am or so. I enjoyed that 40 min walk -- it woke up my mind and would arrive at the office ready to work... xo bb

Dawn is my favorite time of day - so much gets done. I don't like those days when I sleep until like 7:00 (rare). The sunrise is so full of promise. Happy week to you too.

I love early starts(when i decide to have them), instead of the jarring wake up that i receive from baby Z:-). I love Richard Gere; he's hot! Happy Monday! xx

Getting up early is so very hard but you are right...it is rewarding to enjoy those peaceful, still moments that only the early hours of the morning can bring! xo Cat

Justine - I may not be able to keep it up :) But it sure does feel good to be up earlier! Haha, Richard Gere is rather fun to watch indeed!
Kat - you too! Sounds like your wkd was fab as well :)
Jess - I love that, the perfect reason to get up early!
Nicole - I'm totally getting more into it!
BB - how lovely, such a wonderful description of an early start in London (all the more reason I need to try doing early mornings more :))!
Daily Mix - the trick is keeping it up! Hope your week is fab too!
Jeanette - I know the feeling of sleeping too late, though I wish I were more a morning person than I am! It's a lovely feel to be up so early :)
Dawn - I wish I could make myself do it more too! (Well, I'm trying ;)) Happy week to you as well!
Stacey - aw, I'm getting a visualization of Baby Z waking you! (So cute, despite the jarring :)) Haha, I'd happily watch Richard Gere for hours! :)
Kirsty - haha, I'm the same but (desperately) trying to change ;)
Annie - ooh, how lovely with the early mornings while camping :) All the more reason to do it on any old day (though I need to make an effort!)
Cat - I'm not a big morning person either! It's a real effort, but more rewarding that I ever expected :)

Congrats for getting up early! I keep trying ever since I admire Justine's early hour photos... - trying being the magic word! ;-)
And a beautiful photo to make getting up early even more rewarding (Richard Gere!) :-)

This is really one of the best times to be out with a camera. At sunset is also great, but I find there is far less activity first thing in the morning, and i like that!!

This is a great shot!

Early morning is my favorite time of day! I love the feeling of all the possibilities. I feel so centered and the air is usually cool and relaxing.

I so wish I could maintain that same feeling for just a few more hours...

i agree.. although, not gonna lie, waking up so early is pretty damn tough to get used to at first.

it seems to be when i get the most work done (plus, i love reading blogs and having my coffee while my dogs lay around!).

I woke up at 4:30 the other day, couldn't fall back asleep and decided to get up for the day.
by around 11am I had gotten more done than I do in most full days.
It's magic!

Julia - oh, I really like that idea of just getting up for yourself (so inspiring, I think I'll try to think that way from now on :))
Ren - so lovely that you get up early before the household, must be the most peaceful thing!
Mary - I know what you mean! Too bad that early-morning feeling doesn't last beyond it!
Punctuation Mark - thanks & you too! Have a lovely one! :)
