I want candy

I can't help it, it's all this Halloween talk! And if, like me, you've a thing for British candy, but find yourself Stateside of the pond, all is not lost! Where to find candyliciousness in 3 major East Coast towns...

Cardullo's in winter, Cambridge
Boston & Cambridge: Cardullo's not only has piles o' British candy, but the most expensive sandwich - over $100 for a caviar sandwich!




Rodman's, Washington, DC
DC: Rodman's, the "Weirdest Little Drugstore in Washington," is a savior for Brit-candy hunters in the wilds of DC.




Tea & Sympathy in the Village
Manhattan, NYC:  Tea & Sympathy has carried British candy since the last monarch (it seems!)





Humble London Tube candy machine
Confession: My candy sources in London aren't as fancy as the above. We just buy from the nearby petrol (gas) station or the candy machines in the Tube (subway). :)

    I've never had British candy before, but I LOVE candy... Perhaps I'll check out that place you listed in Boston! Do you have any favorite-candy recommendations ?

    I found a British tea shop (serving high tea) here in San Diego that has a store stocked full of British goods (including laundry detergent). I think picking up a few unusual pieces of candy would be a great idea this Halloween. Do you have any favorites?

    I'm so jealous. The only American candy I like are peanut M&Ms. My favorite candybars are British. Topics are #1 - I have loved them for 30 years, though they are even getting hard to find over there. There is some KitKat thing with hazlenuts that I ate last time I was over there and it rocked my world. I don't live on the east coast so I have to wait for trips over. Luckily we've got one planned for next year!

    british sweets rock! & oh my the list is long; my favs = refreshers, sherbet fountains, sherbet dib-dabs, black jacks, fruit salads, rhubarb and custards, sherbet lemons, drumsticks, fruit pastilles, sherbet bonbons; i am now drooling! great post...

    I'm trying my hardest to stay away from it this year. It must have been weird when I grabbed more than 1 when I was at my doctors office.

    Those shops sound really lovely but I am like you..When Im in Reading I get my candy in the Tube...hahah...Ohhh I am craving some Dairy Milk and Maltesers right now...Btw: My mom just sent me 3 huge boxes of the little goodness...(haha)

    Candy?! Yes please! British candy is the closest to Australian tasting candy so I get it where I can! There's a UK shop in Santa Monica where I can stock up on all things sugary and sweet - thank goodness! There's also World Market which is great too!

    In the shopping district in SF, there's a whole store dedicated to Scotland, and their window displays are full of British candies - stuff like Flakes and Crunchie bars and Cadbury's...and Miette (a bakery and candy store) carries them too. My parents loved them, and its the only type of candy they keep for themselves :)
